An often repeated mantra at Apostles is the desire to be missed by the city if the church ever ceased to be. This goal to serve the neighborhood communities of New York where the church resides led the design solutions. The sturdy chiseled serif type paired with bold sans supporting type represent the intersection of historic and modern, of sacred and city. The glowing halo around the O in the wordmark is derived from the halos used to identify Christ's Apostles throughout classic art. On the website, black and white NYC photography and notable NYC quotes ground the brand in the city it serves. Apostles celebrated their 10 year anniversary this year with the branding and website still in use.
